Here is Coast, my newest quilt. I just finished it in time for an auction that will be held this Saturday, at the Robbie Burns Dinner organised by the Saturna Island Lions Club.
Proceeds will go to a good cause... Plus, this gave me a deadline, which I seem to need to get things done these days!
Above: Coast, quilted wall hanging - 41 x 35"
This is the statement that accompanies the quilt:
Since moving to Saturna in 2005, I have spent a lot of time paying
attention to details: the quality of the light on the water, the big sky in
front of my house and its constantly changing cloud patterns, the incredible
height of the fir trees, the countless shades of green that surround me and the
lacelike effect of water on the sandstone. All these elements find their way
into my textiles.
News from the Auction: The quilt was bought by a local collector, after vigorous bidding!

Just discovered your blog and all your wonderful work. I especially love this piece with the great play of light against dark.
Thank you, Robin, it's the type of contrast I will continue to explore.
